Thurday Afternoon Update

It felt so good last night to get in bed and know that all the babies were safely snuggled in with their moms and they were all doing so well.  For so many nights we have watched and waited for this first group of four foals to arrive. We are so pleased with all of them and are having so much fun watching them play and discover new things each day.



Karisma's foal is doing great.  He had some trouble deciding where the milk came from but he has it all figured out now and is a doll.  Alexa was spending time with him today and he was loving it. 
 
The mares and babies will be in the barn at night and we will have the cams on when they are inside.  I hope to have another outside cam installed soon so you will be able to watch them playing during the day.
 
I will have pictures of all the foals that I'll be posting soon.  We're going to try to take advantage of this short break before the last three mares are due to foal and get some pictures and videos while they are playing and when we are working with each one of them.

 
Thanks to each of you who have been so wonderful about helping us watch the mares.

    I was watching live while Alexa was teaching Phantom, and it was just magical! He was so resistant at first, naturally. But by the end he was LOVING her, and being rubbed and touched. She even started getting him to enjoy having his ears rubbed, his legs rubbed up and down. It was a learning experience for this 35+ year teacher! And,it was an honor to watch such a talented teacher as Alexis!

      There is not a camera on them right now but I plan on putting a new one up soon. I'll post new pictures soon.

    Congrats on all the new babies!!!! There all awesome! And I just love seeing the videos of them playing. Thank God my laptop was fixed just in time! Thank You for sharing your wonderful world.

    I'm pretty addicted to watching them too, and I'm hoping you can get that new outside camera up, so that we can watch the babies and their mamas learning new things outside, and playing and learning to socialize. Would you like to get contributions towards that? I couldn't send much, but if everyone sent a little, we could help you get them.

    Will the mares close to foaling be inside on the cameras tonight? Or the mares with foals? I miss seeing them...I know you're stripping the stalls, but I was hoping they were all clean and dried out....Also, are you already checking Midnight, Karma and Evenstar to see if they are bagging up, or testing their milk? Sorry to ask so many questions, 'cause I know this is your busiest time. but please add to the blog, or on FB, and let us know, or please let us see the mares and foals on camera...THANK you.
