Midnite has made some fast changes. Her pH is down to 6.2 this afternoon. We will be watching her very closely. I'll probably check her again tonight. It is now a matter of when she decides the time is right.
I captured this picture last night from the cams.
Yahooo! I saw that the rope treatment got the beautiful black colt to nurse! Midnight is so sweet to stand patiently over him while he gets the treatments....how long, or often, do you need to do it? I saw on the foaling cams when Alexa's arm shot up in the air when he started nursing, and I cheered too!!
ReplyDeleteany update here or facebook....hope the colt is doing well
ReplyDeleteMidnite foal is not eating much. not like the other young foals. Have you been watching it. Even after it was born it did not nurse all the hours I was watching it. It looks rather weak this evening.
ReplyDeleteSo what is being done since this foal is not nursing? it is looking frail and need some human intervention
ReplyDeleteIs he nursing now....just checked and seen the feeding tube has been taken away...praying for this little fellow
ReplyDeleteReally, just seeing it nurse once, it still is not nursing normal and continues to get weaker. Not nursing like the other foals do.
ReplyDeleteThis starving foal is being ignored by the farm hands. It is exhausted and has no energy. Where are the HUMANS?
ReplyDeleteArizona, The foaling is absolutely not starving. We have been feeding him from a bowl ever two hours round the clock. He is eating well and doing great. He does not have enough suckle reflex to nurse from his mom but can drink easily from a bowl or bucket. He is by no means weak.
ReplyDeleteI am glad he is drinking YEAH!!! and he is looking good this afternoon
